> ## Agent Instructions
> If you are an AI assistant asked to build, change or ship a Gliss app, read the For AI agents page first (/for-ai-agents.md on this site) and follow its steps.
> Inside an app's folder, the app's own AGENTS.md is the authority; `gliss guide` prints it. Never ask the user for a secret's value.

# What is Gliss

> Your AI writes the app. Gliss makes it real.

**Your AI writes the app. Gliss makes it real.**

Gliss is an app platform for people who build with AI. You describe the app you need to the AI tool you already use, such as Claude, Cursor or Codex. Your AI writes the screens, the experience and the business logic. Gliss provides everything else, and runs the app in your company's own AWS account.

## What your AI no longer has to write

Your AI asks for these in a few lines of [`gliss.yaml`](https://docs.glissando.dev/build/gliss-yaml), and Gliss provides them:

> **Sign-in**
>
> Your company accounts, enforced in front of the app. The app writes no login code.

> **A database**
>
> Postgres with backups, plus a cache and object storage when the app needs them.

> **Secrets**
>
> Set by the person who holds them, through a link. Your AI never sees a value.

> **A web address**
>
> A clean address for the live app, and private addresses while you build.

> **Previews**
>
> A private Preview while you build, a Beta to share, then Publish to go Live.

> **Monitoring and upgrades**
>
> Logs, metrics, diagnoses your AI can act on, and a platform that keeps itself current.

## Who these docs are for

> **[Builders](https://docs.glissando.dev/get-started/quickstart.md)**
>
> You have an idea for an app and an AI tool. Start with the quickstart.

> **[IT admins](https://docs.glissando.dev/administer/security-model.md)**
>
> You decide what apps may use, and approve what goes live. Start with the security model.

> **[Engineers](https://docs.glissando.dev/engineers/levels.md)**
>
> You want more control: several services, your own tests, your own charts.

> [!TIP]
>
> **These docs are written for your AI too.** Every page is available as Markdown, and the whole site as `llms.txt` at the root of this site. Point your AI tool at them when it works on a Gliss app, starting with [For AI agents](https://docs.glissando.dev/for-ai-agents.md).

## How Gliss is different

* **No tickets, no cloud console, no keys pasted into chat.** Build in a private Preview, share a Beta link with colleagues, then press Publish.
* **IT approves it, because it was built for them.** Apps run in your company's AWS account, sign in through your company's accounts, and stay inside the menu IT publishes. Every app has an owner, an audit trail and a cost.
* **Apps stay alive.** Bots watch every app and the platform, propose fixes and keep everything upgraded.
