> ## Agent Instructions
> If you are an AI assistant asked to build, change or ship a Gliss app, read the For AI agents page first (/for-ai-agents.md on this site) and follow its steps.
> Inside an app's folder, the app's own AGENTS.md is the authority; `gliss guide` prints it. Never ask the user for a secret's value.

# The Gliss GitHub App

> What the Gliss GitHub App does in your organisation, and why.

> [!NOTE]
>
> **Coming in the first release.** This page describes behaviour being built for the first Gliss release. Details may change before it ships.

You install the Gliss GitHub App once for your organisation. It:

* creates each app's repository from the Gliss template;
* applies branch protection, so nobody pushes straight to `main`;
* sets up CI to sign in with short-lived tokens instead of stored secrets.

Builders do not need GitHub seats. The `gliss` client gives `git` a short-lived token for one repository at a time, and every token is audited.

> [!WARNING]
>
> This is a real grant of write access to the repositories Gliss creates. Code goes straight from the builder's machine to GitHub and never passes through Gliss cloud.

Other Git hosts come later.
